A drug company and a pet health company have joined forces to market a new spray mist pain reliever for dogs. The companies are developing a mist version of the pain medication meloxicam, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is commonly used to treat dogs with arthritis. It is currently available in pill, liquid and injectable forms. Abbott Laboratories said in a press release today that it is collaborating with Velcera Inc. to make and sell the pain treatment that will Dopharma, a Dutch manufacturer of generic pharmaceutical products for livestock has launched the first generic of meloxicam for large animals
